No organisation is an island

We believe we have a role to play in our communities to be a good neighbour and make a positive impact.

As a significant employer of scientists and engineers, we have a vested interest in engaging with young people to encourage them to consider careers in science and engineering. One way we do this is through our enthusiastic commitment to Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) outreach programmes, underpinned by our employee volunteering scheme.

QinetiQ also led the launch of The 5% Club, an initiative designed to invest in the younger generation by creating momentum behind the recruitment of apprentices and graduates in the UK.

We support a number of charities across QinetiQ that are important to our people. In the UK we support the RNLI, Cancer Research UK and Help for Heroes, all chosen by our employees, and we also offer payroll giving. At a local level, our individual sites support a range of projects in their communities.

Our blog features some examples of QinetiQ’s community activities, or you can click on individual stories in the list below.
