I can't upload my CV

What sort of training programmes do you offer employees? Do you offer technical training?

The training opportunities at QinetiQ are comprehensive. We offer a wide range of training for our employees tailored to employee and business needs.

Do you sponsor Masters or other further qualifications?

Yes - Any employee can apply for sponsorship and all requests will be considered, especially where the knowledge acquired adds to QinetiQ’s overall knowledge base.

What are you looking for in an application?

We provide a lot of information about the job and state the education, training, qualifications, experience and skills we are looking for in a candidate. Please ensure you attach a cv and demonstrate in your letter of application or cv how you meet our stated requirements.

What happens next?

We will normally shortlist within two weeks of receiving your application though this may vary where we have significant numbers of applicants. If you are called for interview, we will normally give you at least two weeks notice of the date. In many cases, the interview date is included in the job advert.

What is the selection process?

Candidates are assessed against the person criteria included in the job details.

As soon as a decision has been reached, we will contact shortlisted candidates to arrange interviews. We will contact you when we are certain that you will or will not be called to interview. We always ask you to bring identity documents and qualification necessary for the job to your interview.

What happens at interviews?

Interviews are normally conducted by at least two people which will include the line manager. Candidates will often be asked to give a presentation on a relevant topic as part of the interview, which will be explained in the invitation to interview letter.

In some cases, there may be second or even third interviews. Some interviews may need to be conducted by telephone. In all cases, we do our best to ensure that all candidates are given fair and appropriate opportunities to demonstrate their abilities to do the job. UK citizens and members of the European Union will need to bring identity documents e.g. passport and driving license as proof of their right to work in the UK.

What if I am offered a job?

Once the interviews are complete, we will select a preferred candidate and may issue a conditional offer of employment - conditions will include security clearance at an appropriate level, satisfactory references, medical, etc. When we have completed all the necessary employment checks on a preferred candidate, we will issue a formal unconditional offer of employment and contract. We will ask you to accept the offer by signing and returning documents.
