Can a national of any country apply to QinetiQ?
Because of our close links with the Ministry of Defence, some of our jobs need UK nationality, or in some cases a nationality of a Commonwealth or EEA country. We are able to accept other nationalities for certain jobs. Where nationality restrictions apply, this should be stated in the vacancy advertisement.
Will QinetiQ sponsor me for a Work Permit?
If you are successful in applying for a vacancy in QinetiQ, we will work with you to obtain any necessary work permit. QinetiQ is a Sponsor under Tier Two of the Points Based System. It will however be your responsibility to ensure you are entitled to remain in the UK for the period of your employment with QinetiQ.

QinetiQ's support for projects involving university teams and specific students is determined by our business interests. We work with key universities across a wide range of disciplines, and will solicit their involvement through our Partnerships and other mechanisms. We are unable to accept enquiries from individual students unfortunately.

Do QinetiQ offer apprenticeships?
QinetiQ has a formal apprenticeship scheme at Boscombe Down, near Salisbury, Wiltshire. The recruitment process for the 2011 QinetiQ Aircraft Apprentice Entry (Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering) has now closed. Recruitment to the scheme in 2012 will start in January 2012. Trade groups this year are Mechanical, Avionics and Armament. Training will commence in September 2011 and successful apprentices will graduate in September 2015. As usual, competition for places is fierce and a good standard of Maths, English and Science is required.
