David’s biography

David Anderson was appointed Managing Director of Defence Training Review(DTR) in January 2007. He leads a consortium of companies, including Raytheon and EDS, with responsibility for designing, developing, managing and delivering all the training within the DTR programme. David’s goal is to successfully establish QinetiQ as a recognised world-class provider of training services to the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

David’s early career focused on research, and he worked for Defence Research Agency (DRA) and Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) holding a number of management and directorial positions.

In 2004, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of QinetiQ Inc, QinetiQ’s subsidiary in the United States, to lead QinetiQ’s expansion into the US market. During this time, he was involved in the acquisition of five US defence technology companies.

David has a bachelor degree and PhD in Physics from the University of Dundee. He spent four years at Harvard University as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. From 2004 to 2007, David was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Test and Evaluation Programme for Humanitarian Demining.
