Managing Director of Managed Services (interim)
Neil's biography Neil Irvine oversees the test, evaluation, training, and managed services business which provides independent expertise to the defence, government, energy and transport sectors. The QinetiQ iX vision is to be recognised internationally as the organisation that helps realise the potential of people and technology. Neil joined QinetiQ in 2003 as Sales Director for iX Managed Services, developing major sales process and portfolio and then moving on to lead the QinetiQ training organisation within the successful Defence Training Rationalisation bid.
He was appointed MD, Flight Engineering Services, Boscombe Down in 2006, responsible for all engineering, fleet maintenance and support and site facilities there. Before joining QinetiQ he was with ALSTOM Transport Information Solutions for 3 years, responsible for all UK projects and sales activity in delivering railway signalling and control projects.
His earlier career was largely spent with AEA Technology/UK Atomic Energy Authority where he undertook and managed large programs of design code development for power plant and offshore structures, moving to deliver service and consultancy business in the nuclear, power and oil and gas sectors, including a period of three years working in the USA as an executive in an AEA Technology acquisition.
He holds a PhD from London University and is a Chartered Engineer. |
