Dick’s biography
Prior to joining QinetiQ, Dick Hedges spent some years in senior professional services and consultancy roles in Ball and Jacobs Australia. In 2000, he retired from the Royal Australian Air Force as an Air Commodore after serving for 36 years in numerous roles, gaining extensive experience in project management, engineering, strategic procurement and senior management and leadership. On his retirement, Dick was Acting Head, Electronics Systems Division in the Defence Material Organisation.

Dick holds an Associate Diploma of Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and also a Master of Science degree from Cranfield, UK. In the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 1995, Dick was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for exceptional service to the Royal Australian Air Force, particularly as Director of the Air Force Commercial Support Programme.
