Rod’s biography

Rod Locket is Managing Director of QinetiQ AeroStructures Pty Ltd and QinetiQ Technology Training Pty Ltd. He established and grew the former AeroStructures’ businesses in Australia from 1995, which was acquired by QinetiQ in 2008 and specialises in aircraft structural integrity.

Rod has been in business in the US and Australia since leaving the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in 1984. Rod also served in the Australian Embassy in Washington, USA.

Prior to establishing AeroStructures, Rod was appointed General Manager by the ANZ Banking Group and BP Australia Limited to form the operating company Melbourne Jet Base at Melbourne Airport in 1989.

His educational qualifications include a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University UK, and he is a graduate of RAAF Staff College and US Armed Forces Staff College. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Member of The Institution of Engineers, Australia.
