QinetiQ evaluated the air-drop of inflatable boats and their crews for the UK MoD Survival and Airborne Delivery Integrated Project Team.

A pair of medium sized inflatable boats were parachuted together with their crews over the sea. The trial involved initial computer analysis, theoretical studies, risk and safety assessments and the development of innovative operating procedures.

The trial successfully demonstrated that the crews could reach both airdropped boats within the operational window. As a result, the Integrated Project Team endorsed the Airborne Forces Equipment Release Certificate.
