QinetiQ simulation facilities can be networked to share data and systems models internally and with third parties as required to meet specific customer needs. QinetiQ has a proven track record in both HLA (High Level Architecture) and DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation). Inter-operation with other simulations locally and via national and international WAN links has been undertaken many times.
Both fixed site and field deployable facilities are available for independent operation or as part of a networked simulation.
We have been at the forefront of the development of networked simulation-based aircrew collective training solutions together with advice on simulator acceptance interoperability and networking. An established facility for Mission Training through Distributed Simulation (MTDS) has been developed as a capability concept demonstrator for UK MOD.
MTDS Capability Concept Demonstrator (CCD) – this is the UK’s exciting next stage in synthetic training. Many pilots only experience the sheer complexity of composite air operations when flying operational sorties on active duty. MTDS is designed to address this shortfall. It allows use of networked simulators to enable aircrew to train safely for coalition operations.
QinetiQ has been instrumental in the design, execution and successful delivery of the MTDS CCD.
