Synthetic Environments are a powerful tool to enable faster, cost effective and better definition, development and delivery of potential solutions to meet a requirement. QinetiQ has established the QinetiQ Unified Experimental Services Testbed quest to provide an enduring SE capability.
Designed and built on open standards to encourage interoperability, quest provides all the capabilities necessary to conduct experiments for clients, including a battle space theatre, engineering laboratories, modelling and simulation tool sets, and command and control applications.
The quest capability is built upon QinetiQ's long track record of providing modelling and simulation tools for research and experimentation. It provides a consistent integrated modelling and simulation tool set with both manned and unmanned simulators and simulations from across the whole of QinetiQ, enabling an activity range of unparalleled breadth across the land, sea, air and air space domains.
Through secure connectivity across QinetiQ’s multiple sites and
laboratories, quest offers national and multi-national collaboration. In this context, data, voice, video and applications can be shared between laboratories and, via the high-speed national secure data highway known as JMNIAN, other experimentation facilities in the UK and overseas. |
