Training for emergencies For example, the UK’s Emergency Planning College, which is responsible for delivering the multi-agency doctrine and training to support the UK's civil emergency effort, contracted the help of QinetiQ to identify the most effective way to train strategic emergency command teams in the management of emergencies and disruptive challenges.

Following the initial scoping study, the user, system and service requirements to support the capability were established and documented and have provided the foundation for the current programme.
This is the first fully documented set of requirements for strategic emergency management training anywhere in the world, and it is already the subject of considerable interest from a number of overseas authorities.
QinetiQ's knowledge and experience in the training of strategic decision-making is equally pertinent to other areas, such as business continuity planning, and particular events, such as emergency management for the 2012 Olympics in London.
