IndicEz

QinetiQ exploited its background knowledge in intelligence analysis to understand how data and text mining technology can be made to produce effective results. At the outset we conducted research into emerging data and text mining technologies, seeking to establish the strengths and weaknesses of each technique and to establish which were able to delivery results rather than empty promises.

IndicEz is a software application developed by QinetiQ which makes use of advanced machine learning techniques to identify patterns in data This allowed us to deliver support to operational units which really made a difference. In parallel with this work QinetiQ has developed its own bespoke software application called IndicEz. This application draws upon fundamental research in machine learning and pattern recognition.

IndicEz is able to identify patterns in unstructured data sets by learning from rules used by human analysts – even where those analysts cannot put into words what it is that they are doing.
