E-X-Drive™ is QinetiQ’s electric drive transmission for tracked vehicles. It is lightweight, compact and efficient compared to conventional transmission systems.

The 6x6 Hybrid Electric Drive (HED) demonstrator vehicle has been built and tested by QinetiQ to evaluate the benefits of HED technology.
QinetiQ offers design, analysis, simulation and practical testing of hybrid-electric solutions. Simulation models include HYSIM® for fuel efficiency, TrackSIM to evaluate E-X-Drive™ performance plus fault tolerance and WheelSIM for analysis of individual wheel control against a vehicle dynamics model.
