Classiphi - planning for UUV/USV missions

The Classiphi remote vehicle planner provides a generic, flexible and powerful tool to assist in the planning and monitoring of UUV/USV missions.

Unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) are rapidly becoming tools-of-the-trade for both commercial and naval marine survey. Classiphi provides an integrated tool for UUV operators which allows seamless mission planning and post-mission data processing.

Classiphi consists of two main packages – the Classiphi Toolkit and the Classiphi Viewer. The Toolkit is the muscle behind Classiphi, acting as a fast and efficient sonar processor. The Toolkit is a highly effective processing tool; it reads in UUV sensor data, performs all standard geocoding corrections and automatically detects target objects. Seabed type can be automatically classified from sidescan sonar and multibeam echo-sounder data.

The Classiphi Viewer is an elegant UUV survey viewing tool providing control over both bitmapped and vector data in a simple to use package. Within the viewer, data are rapidly mosaiced and processed to generate hydrographic standard charts.

Classiphi revolutionises the production of seabed classification maps, offering for the first time automated effective seabed classification. Using sophisticated image analysis techniques, Classiphi offers rapid, repeatable and accurate seabed interpretation.
