Light Well Intervention Vessel

We are developing the new tri-hull/SWATH concept vessel set to revolutionise sub sea well intervention in the North Sea and world wide.

Increasingly the industry has an ageing population of sub sea wells that require a cost effective method of intervention to prolong their life and maintain production in the mature North Sea environment.

tri/SWATH concept vessel QinetiQ and OTG have developed a concept design for a new offshore vessel that will significantly lower cost of workover operations and improve HSE performance.

Traditionally intervention of these wells has been by semi-sub type vessels or limited capability mono hull vessels. The former are non-economic on most wells and the latter offer limited capability in terms of operating capacity windows and equipment.

The design of the new tri/hull SWATH vessel incorporates the use of three semi submersible hulls that give the vessel unique sea keeping abilities and deck load. Coupled with this the design allows up to 5 splash free moon pools.

The vessel's unique design allows cost effective subsea well intervention. The vessel is set to transform mature sub sea environments by making well intervention affordable and practical.
