Modernisation at Warren Street Station
QinetiQ has won a multi-million pound contract to refurbish a London Underground station.
The project involves re-cladding the walls and ceilings at Warren Street tube station with panels made from a fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite. No other composite panels meet London Underground's stringent requirements for fire safety.

The FRP panels are more adaptable to architectural features and more resistant to corrosion than the metallic panels used elsewhere in the London Underground network.
Lighting systems, water management and panel-based speakers are also being incorporated into the station cladding system.
