An uncomfortable backpack can be a highly irritating problem for keen ramblers or hiking enthusiasts, and aside from being assailed by swarms of midges, it is arguably the most challenging aspect of life on the road for people who love their outdoor pursuits.
But now QinetiQ, Europe's largest science and technology solutions provider, has worked with leading performance outdoor products company, Berghaus, to design and develop a revolutionary backpack - Bioflex.

The Bioflex back system is the first product of its type that actually moves with the body as well as combining a number of other innovations such as personal adjustment for excellent fit. This was achieved by using a truly multidisciplinary team of designers and ergonomists from QinetiQ and Berghaus' own internal design team, combined with their marketing and industry experience.
The backpack has also won one of the highest accolades in the product design world, winning the ISPO award for outdoor product design at the ISPO Expo in Munich which was held in February '05.
