QinetiQ AeroStructures provide independent airworthiness advice and structural integrity related engineering services to operators of fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Part of one of the world’s leading defence technology companies, QinetiQ AeroStructures employs more than 90 specialists in structural integrity, usage monitoring and software development.

Under long term contract with the Australian Defence Force, QinetiQ holds a unique Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) status. This accreditation means we are the only company accredited to provide certified structures and software designs for all Australian military aircraft types from the Museum Spitfire through to the JSF.

We offer expert advice on structural airworthiness including fatigue management, aircraft usage monitoring, interpretation of structural certification and design standards, structural testing and engineering analysis.

Aircraft Structural Integrity Management

QinetiQ is the Australian Defence Force’s industry partner in aircraft structural integrity engineering. We hold the unique status as the only company accredited to provide certified structures and software designs and advice for all its military aircraft and helicopters.

Repair and Modification Design

QinetiQ AeroStructures is authorised to develop repairs and modifications for almost any rotary or fixed wing aircraft.

Structural Health and Usage Monitoring

QinetiQ AeroStructures maintains a dedicated team of specialists in the
collection and interpretation of usage data for 300 fixed and rotary wing
aircraft.

Structural Testing

Extensive experience in the design and management of structural testing programmes including materials test programmes, military aircraft full scale fatigue tests and full scale component tests for civil aircraft.

Aircraft Life Extension

As specialists in aircraft structural integrity, we develop and manage life extension programmes. Our experience includes a number of ADF programmes and a highly successful life extension for the Pakistan Air Force’s fleet of lead-in fighters (MIG 17s).
