The QinetiQ Centre for Defence Nutrition (QCDN) leads Defence nutrition research in the UK, and, together with its predecessor, the Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA), has a long history of providing cutting edge Defence nutrition research and consultancy.

Today, QCDN aims to deliver value to military customers from the application of nutritional science and technology, and offers Armed Forces worldwide the opportunity to maximise physical and cognitive performance, to optimise the impact of physical training programmes, improve recovery, reduce the risk of injury, and to maintain and improve the health of Armed Forces Personnel.

QCDN has vast experience in determining nutritional and energy requirements, and has the capability to investigate everything from the effects of diet, drugs, and food supplements on physical and cognitive performance, to exercise and nutritional requirements in extreme environments, bone health, and metabolic monitoring in the field.
