The consultation period for the proposed introduction of segregated airspace to accommodate unmanned aircraft operations closed on 29 September 2008.

Watchkeeper will be the primary user of the proposed airspace and since the start of the consultation process there have been some changes to the Watchkeeper programme that merit a review of the requirement, which might, in turn, affect the design of the proposed airspace. Regulatory advice is being sought and a decision on the way forward can be expected this month. Public consultation feedback has, therefore, been deferred until January 2009. If design of the airspace is affected a further round of public consultation will be initiated. |
