Aim To ensure that TI MPA stakeholders communicate through a common and agreed TI vocabulary to enable the sharing of problems and ideas, and provide a foundation for the TI MPA.
Content This task will be led by HVR Consulting Services, will involve undertaking the test, validation and implementation of the preliminary TI vocabulary that has been developed by HVR under the Technology Insertion Acceleration Programme WP 1.2.1. This work package will seek to continue validation of the vocabulary through extended stakeholder testing. Following refinement, HVR will support the exploitation of the vocabulary.
This work package will also address the issue of adopting a UK specific TI vocabulary as opposed to adopting the US terminology. The study will investigate the likely implications, both positive and negative of utilising a national vocabulary as opposed to a potentially global language.
Following endorsement by stakeholders, the TI vocabulary will be implemented on the Technology Insertion MPA website, and on a system which is highly visible to the stakeholder community (e.g. the AMS). Additionally, support will be given to the Defence Standards Organisation in further exploitation of the vocabulary to an industry wide audience.
Outcome The outcome will be implementation of the TI vocabulary through one of three defined routes:
The MOD Aquisition Management System;
The TI MPA website;
The MOD Defence Standards Organisation.
The deliverable report will include the equivalent US terminology and conclusions to the divergent US/UK vocabulary debate.
