Aeromedical Training Facility

Descriptive Overview
This Facility supports the safety training of aircrew and provides medical and safety training for those participating in flight test or training. The school runs courses covering the physiological effects of flight.

Characteristics of Facility

• A hyperbaric decompression chamber capable of accommodating up to 17 people and operating up to an altitude of 25,000 feet.
• An unheated outdoor plunge pool (dimensions 5m x 5m x 2.5m deep) with a release gantry enabling parachute release techniques to be taught.
• A passenger aircraft escape trainer.
• A dragging facility.
• Demonstration equipment: ejector seats, oxygen systems and survival packs.
