Microsoft outsources X.400 support for entire customer base, including secure government and commercial sectors. Boldon James will now provide all 3rd / 4th line X.400 support and development enhancements across the Microsoft Exchange Server family.

Boldon James, a leading provider of secure information exchange solutions and a wholly-owned QinetiQ subsidiary, today announced a large multi-year renewable contract to provide X.400 support for the Exchange Server family on behalf of Microsoft.

As the ‘Global Go To Market Partner for Secure Messaging’ and as a long established X.400 messaging expert, Boldon James has been selected by Microsoft’s Sustained Engineering Group to provide on-going X.400 support (3rd and 4th line) for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, 2000 and 2003. Where configured, these Microsoft Exchange platforms contain Boldon James developed and supported extensions.

For Exchange 2007 Boldon James has implemented an Exchange foreign connector interface to support the X.400 protocol, including military extensions such as ACP123 and STANAG 4406. This Exchange connector is a key Boldon James software component for those organisations deploying Exchange 2007.

“The importance of this support contract for Microsoft and its global Exchange customers signifies yet another long term commitment to the Boldon James relationship,” comments Kieron Sambrook-Smith, Boldon James’ Sales and Marketing Director. “Our agreement builds on the strong relationship that we have enjoyed with Microsoft, supporting specialist messaging projects since our first collaborative project win in 1996 with the US Department of Defense for its Defense Messaging System.”
