RT Hon Michael Fallon MP visits Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth
24 June 2014: QinetiQ welcomed Business Minister the Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP last week to witness the success and the growth of Maritime technology and expertise at its Portsmouth site, delivering assured capability to the front line.

During the visit to Portsdown Technology Park, Mr Fallon, who coordinates support for the regeneration of the local Portsmouth maritime industry, met a number of new recruits to the business and saw trials in action. He witnessed how QinetiQ has a vibrant and growing high-tech business in the area, with a number of new roles recently created, in addition to the potential for future growth with developments such as the inclusion of unmanned and autonomous systems with maritime mission systems.
Michael Fallon MP said; “I was impressed by the solutions that QinetiQ is offering in response to the complex technological challenges faced by our Navy. It is good for the area that QinetiQ is here, they want to stay here and grow here. The Government’s industrial strategy is giving companies like QinetiQ the confidence to invest, securing highly-skilled jobs and a stronger economy. I look forward to seeing the company create new roles as the business succeeds and grows in future.”
