Company close to doubling intake
QinetiQ has announced it is increasing its graduate intake from 59 to 114 places in 2014, part of its on-going commitment to investing in the next generation of engineers, scientists and technologists.
At the same time as announcing this significant increase in its graduate intake in 2014, the defence and security company has launched a refreshed graduate and apprentice recruitment programme, ‘iQ’, continuing its quest to attract the brightest and the best.
The scheme is now open for applications for science, maths, engineering, business and IT graduates across a number of QinetiQ’s businesses including Air, Space, Maritime and Training & Simulation Services. The graduate programme provides applicants with a structured two year programme providing them with the experience and skills to become the leaders of the future.
The commitment to increasing graduate recruitment forms part of QinetiQ’s drive as a founding member of The 5% Club campaign, a nationwide campaign urging companies across the UK to commit to 5% of their workforce being apprentices, graduates or sponsored students on a formalised training programme within five years.

QinetiQ also offers apprentice programmes, with apprenticeships in engineering, management, facilities and information systems and is also looking to expand disciplines in 2014 into new areas such as Space and Cyber. QinetiQ partners with training providers to deliver Apprenticeships but is also an educational provider in its own right and has an award winning QinetiQ Apprentice Training School at MOD Boscombe Down. Many apprentice graduates have gone on to attain senior management roles in QinetiQ and technical experts leading or advising on ground-breaking projects in air, land and maritime.
