Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc., part of the Systems Engineering Group of QinetiQ North America, has been awarded a task order by the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command’s PEO (Programme Executive Office) Aviation Headquarters to provide technical support to the Army’s fleet of more than 5,000 rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft.
The task order has a one year base period of performance, five one-year options, and a ceiling value of nearly $5 million, if all options are exercised.
Westar will provide onsite technical support to PEO Aviation Headquarters at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and to the Director of Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (CDID) at Fort Rucker, Alabama. The company will help PEO and CDID in the development, acquisition, testing, system integration, product improvement, and fielding of aviation systems.
“We will provide advice and recommendations to PEO, Fort Rucker, TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command), and field commanders to help them make informed decisions on a broad range of aviation programmes and initiatives, such as those involving logistics, safety, test and development, and joint operations,” said Kurt Heine, Westar Vice President, EXPRESS Programs.
Westar has been providing a diversity of systems engineering, technical and programmatic services in support of PEO Aviation’s Programme Offices—such as Apache, Cargo, Utility, and Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter—for more than 15 years.
