On 11 October, QinetiQ and DE&S jointly won the International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM) Operational Improvement Award for their collaboration on Strategic Enterprise.
Through the Strategic Enterprise (SE) QinetiQ and DE&S deliver vital engineering services for UK MOD’s most capable air platforms to assure they are safe to operate and continuously upgraded to maintain warfighting edge. This innovative and flexible arrangement enables us to work in close collaboration to save our customer money.
The IACCM enables public and private sector organisations and professionals to achieve world-class standards in their contracting and relationship management process and skills. With 40,000 members across 165 countries and over 16,000 corporations, it leads the way in responding to the demands of global networked markets. Their Innovation Awards programme recognises leaders, individuals and teams who are raising the profile of contract and commercial capability within their organisations. Open to all IACCM members/member companies, it encourages innovation in contract and commercial practices.
The category of Operational Improvement was the most contested in the competition, with over 30 entries. However, Strategic Enterprise made it through the down-selecting process to the final three and at the annual conference were up against tough competition, with the other two finalists in the category coming from renowned commercial innovators, GE Capital and Verizon.
The event, held this year in Toronto, Canada was attended by QinetiQ Commercial Director (Air & Space), Peter Richardson, who was proud to receive the award on behalf of both QinetiQ and DE&S. Peter said: “The judging process was extremely rigorous with 60 judges overall and more than 10 in our category. Around 400 cross-industry sector people from over 20 countries were at the award event, including many from the world’s top brands. This is a fantastic recognition of the Strategic Enterprise mission we have been working on collaboratively over the last few years – one that will continue, as there is much still to do.
