Supporting Asia with Aircraft Structural Integrity Services

We’re in Kuala Lumpur this week at Defence Services Asia showcasing our Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) engineering and management services to the region.

In Australia, we have supported the Australian Defence Force in the delivery of Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) services for more than 20 years and employ one of the largest concentrations of Aircraft Structural Integrity engineers in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Under a long-term, follow-on and performance-based contract with Australia’s Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), we deliver a wide range of ASI expertise including structural integrity management, airframe life extension, design of repairs and modifications, stress and fatigue analysis, software development and non-destructive testing.

Peter Clay, General Manager, Emerging Business for QinetiQ in Australia will be at the show: “For more than 20 years, QinetiQ has worked in partnership with DASA and the Australia’s Defence Science and Technology (DST) to support the operation and safety of Australia’s entire military aircraft fleet.

“In that time, we have delivered considerable cost savings to the Australian Defence Force, including over $400 million in savings across the F/A-18 Hornet fleet through independent airworthiness advice and services alone.

“QinetiQ is recognised by DASA as a Part 21 Subpart J Military Design Organisation Approval under the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.  This provides QinetiQ with unique authorisation to conduct and approve structural designs for all Australian Defence Force aircraft.

“Building on the ASI expertise that QinetiQ provides to the Australian Defence Force, we are here at Defence Services Asia to promote our ASI capability and look forward to working in partnership with our neighbours and allies in the Asia-Pacific Region.”

In Australia, our independent ASI services provide customers with confidence and certainty in their aircraft’s suitability for safe flight; while minimising cost of ownership through extension programs that reduce downtime and increase maintenance cost saving.

We also feature in the recently released Australian Department of Defence Military Sales Catalogue for demonstrated ASI capability currently delivered to the Australian Defence Force and available internationally.

We will be at Defence Services Asia from 16–19 April, showcasing cutting edge capabilities in unmanned aerial targets, autonomy and security solutions. Visit Stand 20570 for demonstrations and more information.
