UAS CDC Framework

The UAS CDC is an MOD capability set up as an intelligent customer function in the UAS Evaluation space and, increasingly, in the counter-UAS domain also. It serves the widest possible audience, from researchers to operators across MOD and supports Industry and Other Government Departments (OGD) where appropriate and practicable.

The UAS CDC provides a focus for UAS expertise that facilitates the development, delivery and use of enablers to UAS and C-UAS capability development, including training, as cost effectively as possible by:

  • Providing resource to assist initial planning and help identify optimum ways and means to achieve goals;
  • Delivering a knowledge hub to help interested parties to more quickly identify existing resources and resources to achieve project outcomes.

UAS CDC resource is available to the Front Line Commands, Dstl and other MOD agencies. Support to OGD and their Agencies may be supported as appropriate. To support the UAS CDC's work for MOD, the capability is actively encouraged to engage with Industry to identify suitable suppliers for any given task. To maintain awareness of Industry capability and to support relationship management, the UAS CDC uses an Open Supplier Register (OSR) as a means for Industry to log their capabilities and interests. The OSR is open to all interested parties and is free to register.

Under the Long Term Partnering Agreement between QinetiQ and the MOD, a small QinetiQ team has been established and firewalled from the company for the purposes of delivering the needs of the UAS CDC. QinetiQ’s governance is utilised to ensure compliant, safe and independent support on all tasks the UAS CDC undertakes, ranging from trials delivery to supplier engagement.

For suppliers wishing to contact the UAS CDC or register on the OSR, the UAS CDC’s Industry Relations Manager is the first point of contact and who can be contacted via UASCDC@QinetiQ.com.
