Innovation Business Champion Award
04/01/2018
We received the award at the Worcestershire LEP annual conference in December, where we were cited for:
- Supporting Worcester County Council with developing the county’s Innovation Community, including our “running of growth-focused innovation events and enabling businesses to collaborate”.
- Developing a proposal for a 5G testbed: our team in Malvern were involved in developing a proposal for a 5G test-bed at our Malvern site. Building on our 4G emergency services mobile communications programme (ESMCP) work, we have provided 5G security test and assurance services, along with advanced manufacturing use cases, in partnership with Mazak and Worcester Bosch.
- Providing real-time traffic analysis across Worcester by working with the SME Citi Logik using mobile phone data.
- New vision employment around Malvern, where we have a shared vision for high quality knowledge jobs.
Dionne Oliver, our Innovation Senior Consultant and Team Lead Radio Frequency Design and Engineering, attended the event and said:
“Throughout the conference QinetiQ was highly commended for its work and expertise on a variety of topics; to receive an award for Innovation seems a perfect way to formally capture all these accolades.”
Chris Walker, our Cyber, Information & Training Transformation & Engineering Director, said:
“Well done to all, as this award is for our wider efforts across the County, and in support of a variety of local initiatives, including the 5G testbed and novel transport assessment techniques for Worcester.”
