Preview: QinetiQ at Dubai Airshow 2017
Our services and products will be showcased through three key themed areas: Security,Training & Rehearsal and Test & Evaluation.
On display in Security, visitors will see TitanWeave, a patented technology made from Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) and fibre reinforced plastic. TitanWeave offers three times greater impact performance than current materials, preventing critical damage to the aircraft. Also on the stand will be Obsidian, a counter drone radar, and ASX, an airborne surveillance system, each uniquely placed to deliver critical operational advantage in the form of threat detection and security solutions.
As part of Training & Rehearsal, visitors will witness defence operational training opportunities expanding out from our previous work on Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training (DSALT), a synthetic pre-deployment training programme which is a great example of our integration with both UK and international suppliers in a complex synthetic environment.
We will also be presenting our world-class Test & Evaluation services at the show. Test & Evaluation (T&E) is critical to procurement, through-life support of military platforms and weapons systems – from concept through to disposal. We operate a number of UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) air, land and sea ranges and have access to unique T&E facilities across the globe.
Visitors will have the opportunity to get up close to sophisticated targets that replicate threat. The Mosquito, Hammerhead and Banshee are just some examples of unmanned air, land and surface vehicle targets which allow us to create realistic scenarios, helping customers undergo live-fire training and to test and evaluate their weapon systems.
