QinetiQ has established DroneWorks, a test capability to support getting Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS) and Counter UAS (C-UAS) into service at pace. This is in response to the challenges being seen in Ukraine and the Government’s recently published Strategic Defence Review, which emphasised the need for a new ‘Drone Centre’ to accelerate the integration and use of autonomous systems, across our armed forces.
DroneWorks is deliberately accessible to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) where much of the innovation in this area is being driven. We help SMEs and our military customer navigate the complex regulatory environment, provide access to development, rapid proto-typing and testing facilities, and leverage our technical expertise in test and evaluation so their latest innovations can move from concept to frontline capability at far greater speed than otherwise possible.
