Apprentice Workshop with JET
In a bid to demystify these misconceptions and highlight the incredible potential of apprenticeships, we organised an apprenticeship workshop with the students of the JET Blue Skies program at Robert May’s School.
The workshop was designed to address three key aspects:
- What are apprenticeships
- Busting apprenticeship myths
- Showcasing real world success stories.
We addressed notions like ‘apprenticeships are only for manual labour’ or ‘they’re only for school leavers’ with facts and examples of current apprenticeships available. Presenters included industry experts and apprentices themselves, who shared their own experience and explained how apprenticeships span various sectors and lead to promising careers.
Overall, our apprenticeship workshop was a resounding success. QinetiQ aims to hold more apprenticeship workshops with JET, with the goal of fostering a future where apprentice programs are recognised and embraced as a dynamic pathway to personal and professional growth - benefiting individuals, employers and communities.
