We are creating a workplace that is inclusive; where our differences are not only embraced but make us stronger. A place where we can connect with each other and benefit from the experiences and thinking from people with varied backgrounds, and at different stages in their careers.

We believe in a workplace where everyone feels like they belong, one that provides a sense of inclusion across the entire organisation regardless of background, culture or identity.

To achieve this, we are building a workplace and culture where everyone can be authentic, feel valued and realise their full potential. We are inspired by each other, enjoying the exploratory journey we are on, and recognising the impact we have on the safety and security of the world around us. It helps build life-time relationships between QinetiQ and our people and is essential for our business performance. As part of our programme we are focusing on leadership and culture, training, communication and awareness, inclusive hiring practices and outreach. We collaborate with like-minded organisations and networks to learn and to share ideas.

There are a number of ways in which we encourage our people to get involved. Our Diversity & Inclusion Champions focus on promoting inclusion through raising awareness and providing support. Employee-led networks – including Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ (Just Like Q), Racial Inclusion & Social Equality (RISE), Hormonal Imbalance, Disability and Carers, Ex-Military, and Gender Balance – support us in creating an environment where we can all be our true selves at work, and influence policy on diversity and inclusion.

We want everyone at QinetiQ to feel included and to have the opportunity to have their voice considered in every action, interaction and change within our company. Listening to each other is vital to help us learn and improve what it feels like to work here and there are a number of channels through which we can contribute:

  • Global Employee Voice is a group of employees who represent our views to the company, working alongside our leaders to help shape ideas and initiatives that make QinetiQ a great place to work

  • Through our employee engagement platform, Peakon Employee Voice, we are able to provide regular feedback on how it feels to work at QinetiQ, this is then used to inform our decision making and action at a global, business and team level
  • Two-way communication channels – including our Global Portal intranet, Global Employee Roadshows, monthly live events through Q-Talk, team meetings, and virtual communities – encourage us all to share our thoughts, feedback and experience
  • Site Champions bring together people on our sites, building a community feel so that you can feel part of the company
