Dr Nigel Davies to speak about Global Navigation Satellite Systems at DSEI 2017
On 13 September, our Chief Engineer of Secured Navigation will be presenting on 'A New Frontier in the Electronic Battlespace' at DSEI 2017
Dr Nigel Davies is our Chief Engineer of Secured Navigation, where he is responsible for Business and Technical strategy. Nigel will be taking to the stage at DSEI 2017 to discuss Resilient Position, Navigation and Timing - A New Frontier in the Electronic Battlespace.
The talk will cover the increasing ubiquity of current generation Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) based capability and how it has made it a highly attractive target for state actors, highlighting its potential vulnerabilities. It will look at how the key to averting the threat is through the holistic use of existing and modernised GNSS signals, together with new GNSS constellations (such as Europe’s Galileo) and a number of complementary technologies to increase robustness.
Nigel is an expert in his field and is responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of Research & Demonstration, consultancy, solutions and products for secure navigation. Whilst this is principally focussed on GPS and Galileo satellite navigation systems, it includes the use of existing and novel complementary sensors and technologies.
Nigel is speaking at DSEI in the West Theatre, 1500–1530 on 13 September.
Keep an eye on our Twitter feed throughout DSEI week, 12-15 September, for the latest news, demonstrations and all the live action from the show floor.
