QinetiQ North America selected by U.S. DOD for U.S. Army Route Clearance and Interrogation System Type 1 Robotics Contract

Waltham, Mass – QinetiQ North America (QNA) announced that it has been awarded a contract for the Route Clearance and Interrogation Systems (RCIS) Type 1 robotics program. QNA was selected as the winner from five bids submitted and awarded a contract with a total value up to $44,064,025.60. The RCIS program will provide Army Combat Engineers with expanded capabilities for the High Mobility Engineering Excavator (HMEE) by converting the HMEE to an optionally-manned, semi-autonomous, robotic platform or R-HMEE. The RCIS Type I program is the first US Army unmanned ground vehicle program of record to leverage applique kit technology and autonomous control.
