Research and Experimentation: Disruptive Technology at FIA
25/06/2018
David Rosewell
With less than a month to go until Farnborough Airshow 2018, we discuss Research and Experimentation and how it fits in with our theme: 'Make agility your advantage'.
At QinetiQ, we are recognised as a world-leading centre of excellence in Research & Development, and we act as a catalyst for innovation. As well as outstanding experimentation facilities we can offer technical, engineering and scientific expertise to our customers. We also facilitate collaboration across industry, academia and government, giving customers access to new thinking and fast responses to new opportunities and challenges.
At Farnborough International Airshow we will touch on just some of the disruptive solutions from R&E, which are grouped into in four categories:
- Weapons and Targets: e.g. our part in DragonFire and the delivery of the UK MOD Laser Directed Energy Weapons Capability Demonstrator Programme
- Smart materials: e.g. how we assist both military and commercial organisation in their need to hide their physical assets; from submarines to wind turbines
- Autonomy and Robotics: e.g. our integrated network for autonomous systems
- Critical Infrastructure: e.g. our Foreign Object Debris (FOD) detection radar system, Tarsier
We’re also going to share some great insight throughout this week to give you a preview of what Research and Experimentation includes.
If you would like to visit our Chalet (A1), meet some of our leading experts, take a look around our exhibition space, and see demonstrations of how we can deliver innovative, mission-critical solutions please contact events@qinetiq.com.
