As part of our celebration of National Apprenticeship week, Aeronautical Engineering Apprentice Joe Badham speaks to Paul Wright, Engineering Director Air & Space about his career.

Paul started as an apprentice in 1980 and has held several roles before starting his current position last year. Watch the interview to find out more about Paul’s career path and the advice that he gives to young people considering taking up an apprenticeship:

Joe Badham is part of a QinetiQ team taking part in this year’s Brathay Apprentice Challenge – a competition in which apprentices from across the UK compete to be crowned team of the year. You can keep an eye on their progress by following them on Twitter.

National Apprenticeship Week is run by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and traineeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

The 5% Club

Our commitment to apprentices and graduates is recognised through The 5% Club, a nationwide campaign encouraging UK companies to commit to 5% of their workforce being apprentices and graduates.

The 5% Club continues to goes from strength to strength and members of the Steering Board are hosting a dinner to mark National Apprenticeship week. Special guests include The Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP, Minister of State for Apprenticeships and Skills.
