QinetiQ Australia Appoints Strategy Director
QinetiQ Australia today announced the appointment of Shane Fairweather as Strategy Director. Shane has extensive experience in business development and capture management in the Defence market and, in this role, he will assist with QinetiQ Australia’s growth strategy.
Greg Barsby, Managing Director of QinetiQ Australia, said: “Shane is a valuable addition to our team. He brings a wealth of defence experience in developing and delivering capability for a wide range of customers. In providing leadership and strategic guidance across the business, he will help position the company for future growth in Australia. ”
Commenting on his appointment, Shane said: “The technical expertise, deep domain knowledge and rigorous independent thinking of QinetiQ Australia’s people are held in high regard throughout the defence industry. I look forward to building upon this reputation and supporting QinetiQ Australia through the next phase of the organisation’s development and growth.”
Shane joins QinetiQ Australia from Raytheon Australia, where he was a Business Development Director. Prior to joining
Raytheon Australia, he was the head of Boeing Defence Australia’s Program Management function and as a certified strategic capture manager led teams developing strategies and solutions for a number of major opportunities.
Shane also has 13 years of operational experience in the Royal Australian Air Force. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Project Management Capital Acquisition and an Executive Master’s Degree in Complex Project Management.
