QinetiQ launches Summer Hours Program
29/11/2021
Launching from 1 December and running through to the end of February, Summer Hours is a new employee offering that will enable eligible employees to make the most of their summer weekends and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of an extended weekend break.
For the duration of summer, employees will compress their weekly working hours to finish at midday on Fridays.
As a recognised employer-of-choice within the Defence Industry, QinetiQ Australia’s Managing Director Greg Barsby says QinetiQ remains committed to offering leading employee benefits to support people at all stages of their careers.
“We employ some of the most talented engineers and scientists across the globe. To innovate and deliver for our customers’ advantage, we are committed to continuing to create a workplace which attracts, grows and retains the very best people,” he said.
“Summer Hours represents a new offering focused on enabling our people to achieve optimal health, wellbeing and performance. Happy and healthy employees are critical in enabling us to continue delivering exceptional outcomes to our customers.”
While QinetiQ already has a very progressive approach to work-life balance and flexibility, the global talent market is continuing to change and recalibrate as a result of COVID.
Developed in response to these evolving talent priorities, QinetiQ Australia’s General Manager People and Capability Jessica Ciccozzi says the Summer Hours initiative recognises the importance talent are placing on flexibility and overall wellbeing at work.
“Evolving talent priorities are requiring organisations to take a more innovative approach to their employee offerings. Summer Hours joins of list of other progressive employee benefits QinetiQ offers, including flexible working, loyalty leave, cultural and religious day of significance leave, and individual training allowances,” she said.
“In achieving optimal health and wellbeing, we believe it’s important that our people have the time to focus on what’s important outside of work, and have time to rest and recharge,” she said.
“Our leading approach to flexible work is keeping our team members motivated and energised despite the challenges COVID-19 has presented over the past 12 months. Needless to say, our teams are very much looking forward to our Summer Hours and spending Friday afternoons enjoying the things that matter to them the most.”
As part of QinetiQ’s commitment to supporting Australian sovereign capability, competitive employee benefits are regarded as an important contributor, to attracting the brightest people and expanding the defence industry’s greater workforce and capability.Media contact:
