Design & Consultancy: Maritime Vessel Design & Performance Optimisation at SMM 2018

Andrew Peters - Senior Programme Manager
SMM Hamburg is fast approaching and we will be showcasing our capabilities across three key themes:
Our proposition at SMM is focused on how “we enable more advanced design, robust maritime testing and the confidence of cyber resilience across your whole business” - but how does Maritime Design specifically fit into this?
The rapid introduction of new technology, alternative fuels, new regulations and the overall cost of operating vessels presents new challenges to the designer, ship builder and owner. Maritime Vessel Design is key to providing operationally effective, efficient and safe designs for use in the world’s oceans. Our capabilities help not only defence and commercial marine clients but also clients in the renewable energy market, who call on our knowledge and experience to optimise designs and to predict the performance of marine vessels, tidal turbines and wave energy devices.
At concept design stage, our understanding of the requirements and driving characteristics behind the technical options is crucial in order to progress the design along the development spiral. This is especially important when complex requirements mean that readily available technical options are not suitable. Our expertise in the development of vessel design and its optimisation enables customers to ensure the greatest value from the vessel and provides safe and cost-effective solutions.
Look out for #SMMfair on our social channels where we’ll be sharing further insight into our wider maritime offering and a sneak peek into what we’ll be showcasing at SMM.
